Ex Gemini. Came and went. Just like that? I still remember how I fretted over my appointment over the weekend + guard duty.
My first major appointment in OCS. Being exercise BSO I have to admit, as tiring and mentally draining as it was, was kinda fun. More than being just draining was what I learnt from it. I never learnt so much in that 2 days than any other day or weeks combined in SOCC. In some ways, you could say I was kind of craving for it. Somehow, just taking the back seat the entire time got a little too comfortable for me and I wanted a bit more action. As much as i try to lay under the spotlight, a part of me wanted it. Strange eh.
We didn't sleep for 2 nights. For me, i started the week of badly; with guard duty on a sunday, it meant that I only slept 4 hours over sunday night and was pretty tired out even before i could step into my BSO appointment. Was kind of hating it at that point. But i have to thank some of the people in my platoon and those around me who really genuinely wanted to help me and help the entire syndicate. It's quite fulfilling when you see everyone work together. Total hours of sleep from Monday to Thursday: 8hrs. WTF!
I shall skip all that planning stuff. Wasn't that difficult with all the help I could get. The fun part was moving out for the exercise the next day. Ensuring the rebros were up, and that comms were through, that was the fun part. Adrenaline i would say. A bit like a game, troubleshooting and working through a map of a way to solve the problem. And that sense of satisfaction when you do get comms through.
I think i did well as a BSO, though with a lot of support from friends. I heard from some friends that it's exactly 100 days left to commissioning! :D I seriously can't wait man. How i hope you can be there on that day and not have to leave so soon back to Bristol. hoping you can make it for comms ball too. Still trying to get over it. urgh.
On another note...
Been trying to spend more time with my family instead of just going out all the time with friends. Sunday afternoons are now spent Windsurfing with Dad at Constant Wind. Pretty fun i must say, and great way to bond! Don't know why i didn't start much earlier when i was younger! haha.
I miss jamming out with my friends. Seriously trying to get the guys back together for some uncontrolled, no-holds-barred session. I really wanna try some Foster the People songs. Pumped Up Kicks looks easy enough. Wasted, Helena Beat to name a few more. Green Day's new album, UNO!, is out already and i'm totally getting and audio jizz from it. Totally reliving the days of Dookie and Kerplunk. I realise with facebook, very little photos have been up on my blog, so i shall just add a few to highlight some other random stuff that happen over the past few months.
So that pretty much sums up what has happened since July? Will definitely post again soon.
And Dom i have no idea how u managed to find the blog, but i'll take it as hard work that has paid off, for i'm too lazy to change URLs again and hide it even better. LOL.
